Milton Alexander

First Board President

Milton M Alexander was a founder of the Wayne County Training School and Wayne County Board President. Prior to the founding of the school he was president of the Milton Alexander Advertising Agency. He was also on the Wayne Board of Supervisors, and during WWI he was appointed head of the patriotic advertising board of Michigan by Governor Albert Sleeper. He was the first president of the Jewish Community Center and was a member of the Bellefaire Orphanage of Cleveland, Ohio. He was the first Detroit chairman Of Anti-Defamation League; He was active in movements to counteract Antisemitism. He was the first chairman of the committee formed here to sponsor the boycott of German-made goods upon the advent of Nazism.
