Services for Eugene Daley, 78, of Canton, were held April 8 at the Vermeulen Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul C. Manwiller officiating. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth.
Mr. Daley was born June 2, 1923 in Allendale, N.J. and died April 3 in Ann Arbor. He lived in the Canton community for 50 years. He belonged to the Lions Club, Senior's Club in Canton, Local 502 Wayne County Sheriff's Dept. and volunteered to Veteran's Hospital, member VFW Plymouth Post and American Legion. He was in the Navy for six years.
He worked at the Wayne County Training School for eight years. He became a patrolman for the Sheriff's Department and retired in 1977 as a lieutenant. He was one of the first two Wayne County Sheriff's to graduate from the Detroit Police Academy. He served in the Navy during World War II.
