Bliss House Relocation from Bliss Road to Main Street: 1997

The Bliss House was built in 1838. In the 1890s, it was moved from the west side of Bliss Road to the east side. In 1990, it was in the way of a the new Windstone Subdivision. In March 1997, many volunteers removed the kitchen to prepare for moving the building. April 1997, the 20th Century siding was removed and exposed the location of a door. On September 30, 1997, the house was on the move, down Bliss Road and to Main Street. In October 1997, it was firmly seated on a new foundation. New windows were installed in March 1998. Ed Saloga Builders rebuilt the wrap around front porch.
