Description

The Wooden Shoe Restaurant and Palaro Motel were built in 1954 by Paul and Laura Geihoh. They were located at Galena Boulevard and Illinois Route 47 on the northeast corner.

The manager in the 1980s was Petrie Wiis, and the owners were Ellis and Margaret Greyer.

The Pa Laro Motel was later demolished.

In 1990, the Wooden Shoe Restaurant on Galena Boulevard was also demolished to make way for construction of Castle Bank.
