Title
Ida Mighell: Barn
Subject
S. W. Township
Description
This is the cement barn on the Ida Mighell farm. The Migell homestead was located on 43W610 Jericho Road. Ida had seen a barn she liked in Wisconsin and hired a Chicago architect to design one like it. Don Wolf and Groff Frantz wheeled wheelbarrows of cement to b dumped into the forms (must have been in the 1930s). When it was all done, it was discovered that the doors were too small to get the hay racks inside.
