The Reservoir Dam

The Reservoir Dam, often mistakenly referred to as Mead's Mill, was actually a part of the Wayne County Training School. It was built in 1937 as a Works Progress Administration project by architect Nathaniel Gould. Another little-known fact is that the short road that runs to it from Northville Road is called "Training School Dam Drive"

The waterwheel was made out of cypress wood. Charles Fobert told us he remembered the "dam" when it was fully functional. The dam is the largest remaining piece of the Wayne County Training School today.
