Two decades after the township FD was formed, the current Northville Twp Fire headquarters was built on Six Mile road, and the pole was rediscovered, covered in dust. Nobody knew what it was until one of the older members told them the story of where it came from. Firefighter Hugh Jordan was able to get permission to have it put on display in the new apparatus bay with a framed paper detailing the history of the department. I was able to see this for myself October 14, 2011 thanks to the courtesy of Hugh and his interest in local history. Hugh is a lifelong (and 3rd generation) Northville resident.
