The Wayne County Training School's water tower was located on the westside of Sheldon Road. It supplied water to the school via an 8 inch water main. The water tower was 150 feet and high made of steel. It had a capacity of 110,000 gallons. It was filled by 2 electrical centrifugal pumps with capacity of 500 gallons per minute each. Water was pumped from wells north of the power house. It was also the source of water for the 17 fire hydrants that were located on the grounds.
